AGH University of Krakow researchers visited HUST

Members of Prof. Aneta Magdziarz’ group from AGH University of Krakow, comprising Prof. Małgorzata Wilk, Dr. Małgorzata Sieradzka, and PhD student Zuzanna Prus, recently visited the research group of Prof. Yang Yang at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan, China. These two-month secondments, spanning mid-September, October, and mid-November 2024, are related to the European Union’s HORIZON MSCA Staff Exchanges (HORIZON-MSCA-2021-SE-01) under the grant agreement no. 101086071 for the project “CUPOLA – Carbon-neutral Pathways of Recycling Marine Plastic Waste”.

During the visit, the AGH delegation conducted a seminar where they presented the main objective of the research areas within the Cupola project, established international interdisciplinary research activities, introduced AGH University of Krakow and its developmental opportunities, and showcased the entire research team based in Poland.

Additionally, AGH researchers are working on research objectives: Prof. Małgorzata – WP1 (MPW characterisation, sorting and pre-treatment), Dr. Małgorzata Sieradzka, and PhD student Zuzanna Prus – WP5 (Process modelling and simulation).

The visit facilitates the establishment of new collaborative ties with HUST, including discussions on potential future scientific cooperation, the preparation of joint publications, and the further development of research partnerships.
