In March, Professor Katarzyna Styszko from the Faculty of Energy and Fuels and PhD student Gabriela Fuks from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Resource Management at AGH University of Krakow visited Tsinghua University in Beijing as part of the HORIZON MSCA Staff Exchanges project.

The visit aimed to strengthen international collaboration on sustainable and innovative environmental solutions. The AGH researchers introduced the CUPOLA project and presented their work on microplastics in sewage sludge and fertilizers as well as their transformation in the hydrothermal carbonization process. Discussions also addressed circular economy challenges, waste management strategies, material recycling, and carbon footprint reduction in industrial processes.
The Tsinghua University research team shared insights into their work on chemical engineering and sustainable materials. Both teams explored opportunities for joint research, publications, and continued cooperation within the CUPOLA project and beyond.
