We are pleased to announce that the CUPOLA project has been strengthened by the addition of two new beneficiaries and one partner institution:
- University College Cork (UCC), Ireland (https://www.ucc.ie/en/) – led by Dr. Gillian Collins, UCC brings expertise in catalytic nanomaterials and sustainability, and will lead Work Package 4 (WP4).
- Silesian University of Technology (SUT), Poland (https://www.polsl.pl/en/) – represented by Prof. Marcin Sajdak, SUT contributes its deep knowledge in thermochemical recycling and will lead Work Package 2 (WP2).
- Swansea University (SWU), United Kingdom (https://www.swansea.ac.uk/) – joined as a project partner. SWU team is led by Prof. Jiawei Wang and will continue research activities in thermochemical conversion (through pyrolysis and gasification) of marine plastic waste.
These new institutions significantly enhance the project’s capabilities, infrastructure, and interdisciplinary strengths, supporting our efforts to develop innovative, sustainable pathways for recycling marine plastic waste into value-added materials according to the circular economy model.
