Researchers from AGH University of Krakow visited Huazhong University of Science and Technology

Members of Prof. Aneta Magdziarz’s group from AGH University of Krakow, including Dr. Marcelina Bury, MSc. Leszek Stępień, and PhD student Piotr Górszczak, recently visited the research group of Prof. Yang Yang at Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST) in Wuhan, China. This trip, which spans from September to November 2025, is part of the European Union’s HORIZON MSCA Staff Exchanges (HORIZON-MSCA-2021-SE-01).

During their visit, the AGH delegation conducted a seminar for professors and students at HUST. They presented their scientific expertise, outlined the main objectives of their research areas within the Cupola project, established international and interdisciplinary research activities, and introduced AGH University of Krakow, along with its developmental opportunities. They also highlighted the entire research team based in Poland.

In addition, the AGH researchers are focused on specific research objectives: Dr. Marcelina Bury and MSc. Leszek Stępień is working on WP3 (MPW characterisation and optimising catalysts for catalytic pyrolysis and gasification of MPW), while PhD student Piotr Górszczak is involved in WP5 (Process modelling and simulation).

The visit facilitates the establishment of new collaborative ties with HUST, including discussions on potential future scientific cooperation, the conducting of some experiments, the preparation of joint publications, and the further development of research partnerships.
